A small gesture from our office janitor has been changing my mornings

There is a janitor at my office that most people barely notice. He’s quiet, always doing his job, and I was guilty of not paying much attention either. One morning a few weeks ago, I saw him carrying a box of instant coffee packets. He stopped, handed me one, and said, “This is my secret weapon for bad days.” I laughed, thanked him, and didn’t think much of it. But the next morning, there was another coffee packet sitting on my desk. And the morning after that. Now, every day when I get to work, there’s one waiting for me. He doesn’t say anything about it, just gives me a smile and a nod when we cross paths. It’s such a small thing, but honestly, it makes me feel seen. I didn’t realize how much I needed that little moment of kindness to start my day.

I caught my boyfriend cheating and I don’t even know how to process it.

This still doesn’t feel real. We’ve been together for almost 3 years. I genuinely thought he was the one. We talked about moving in together, even getting a dog. Everything felt secure or at least, I thought it was. Over the past month or so, something started to feel off. He was pulling away, but when I asked him what was wrong, he’d say things like just stressed or you’re overthinking again. Then Friday night happened. He told me he was going out with coworkers for a birthday thing nothing suspicious at first. But around 9 PM, I got this weird gut feeling. You know the kind where your chest just tightens and your brain starts running through scenarios you wish you could ignore? So, I did something I’ve never done before: I checked his location. He forgot he shared it with me during a trip a few months ago. He wasn’t at a restaurant, he wasn’t at a bar, He was at her apartment, I recognized the address. A girl he once said was just a friend from work. The one he told me not to worry ...

My tote bag exploded on the bus and strangers rebuilt me in three stops

I was on a bus after work when the strap on my tote snapped and my day hit the floor. Wallet, tampons, a glass jar of soup, my spare flats. The jar cracked and soup slid toward the driver like it had somewhere to be. I froze. The bus did that collective inhale. A woman in scrubs blocked the stream with her lunch container. A teenager swept my stuff into his hoodie. The guy with paint under his nails pulled blue tape from a pouch and wrapped my strap like a pit stop. Napkins moved row to row. The driver eased to the curb and passed me a trash bag, calm. For three stops we were a tiny assembly line. By my stop the mess was gone and my bag held together. People gave me a clap. I laughed so hard I almost cried and stepped into the evening feeling steadier than I had all week. You ever watch strangers build a team around you in ten seconds

Little kids have no shame.

There was a woman shopping near the hair dye at Walmart a few days ago. She had a little boy with her, I’m assuming her son, around five years old. About 4 feet away, also looking at the hair dye, was a woman who appeared to be in her mid 30s or early 40s. She had teeth, but not many. Little boy: Hey lady. What happened to your teeth? Woman, caught off guard: Who, me? Mother, clearly mortified: Oliver, honey. That’s not very nice. We don’t ask people things like that. Little boy: Why not? All her teeth fell out. Where did they go? Woman, laughing awkwardly: Well, that’s what happens when you forget to brush your teeth. Little boy, turning to his mom, wide eyed with terror: is she for real? Mother, pulling the boy by his hand while staring at the woman apologetically: I’m so sorry. Forgive us. Little boy, literally on the verge of panicking: Can I brush my teeth when we get home? Are my teeth gonna fall out? Should I brush them now? Lmao. 🤣 The things kids say. I feel for that m...

My colleague got told she “should smile more” at work… her reply deserves an award

One of my closest colleagues told me this recently, and I can’t stop thinking about it. She was presenting during a meeting doing her job, completely professional. Out of nowhere, our manager (male) interrupts her and says: You should smile more, it makes you look friendlier. She didn’t even flinch. Just looked him dead in the eye and said: “I’m here to be taken seriously, not to be decoration.” The room went silent. You could feel the shift instantly. A couple of us had to stop ourselves from clapping. It blows my mind that in 2025, women are still dealing with this kind of nonsense. But her clapback? Pure gold. Honestly, I wish I had half her composure. If it were me, I’d have spent the rest of the meeting replaying it in my head instead of dropping that line on the spot.

My boss thinks I’m quitting because I brought a cake to work.

So yesterday I decided to bake a cake for my coworkers. Nothing special, just a chocolate cake with ganache because I was in the mood to bake and figured people at the office would enjoy it. This morning I brought it in, set it on the breakroom table, and sent a quick email, Cake in the kitchen, help yourself. By lunch, almost everyone had come by to thank me but they kept saying stuff like,We’ll really miss you and Where are you headed next? Apparently, there’s an unwritten rule in our office if someone brings in baked goods out of the blue, it’s usually because they’re leaving the company. I had no idea! Now my manager wants to schedule a chat about my future here, and I’m panicking because I actually like my job and I’m not quitting. I’m wondering if I should just bake cookies tomorrow with a giant sticky note that says, I’m not leaving, I just like sugar.

My husband was left alone for 3 weeks and I wish he’d just cheated instead.

Three weeks ago, I left for a work trip. My husband didn’t want to come. “I’ll hang back, game a little, order pizza,” he said. He’s 41. I thought, “Fine, he’s an adult, he’ll be fine.” He was not fine. Day 2, he decided he was going to become a “grill master” even though we don’t own a grill. He stacked three baking sheets on top of each other, poured lighter fluid over them, and set off the smoke alarm for 40 minutes. The oven still smells like gasoline. Then, he got really into “minimalist living” after a TikTok binge and threw away half our dishes, claiming “we only need one bowl each.” Unfortunately, he chose the salad bowl and the dog’s water dish. Everything else? Gone. To feed himself, he bulk-ordered 20 frozen burritos and survived on those exclusively. By week two, he was eating them still partially frozen because “it’s basically a cold wrap.” His justification: “saves electricity.” He stopped doing laundry entirely. Just rotated between two pairs of basketball shorts. By th...

How a Coworker Bound for Prison Saved My Job

This happened back in 2009 and it’s been on my mind lately. 100% true story. I was 18 years old working at a distribution center for one of the two largest home improvement chains in the US. I worked in the appliances department where I drove a forklift-like machine that had big clamps instead of forks. The machine could pick up 6 refrigerators at once if they were stacked correctly. If I remember correctly, the appliances were stacked 6 units high. One morning I was absolutely exhausted at work because I made the poor decision to stay up late with a girl I had just started dating. I was operating heavy machinery on 2 hours of sleep (DUMB). The next item I had to grab was a refrigerator on the absolute top row. Even when I was well rested it was scary to pick something from the top row. So I position my machine and line up the clamps, pull forward, and successfully clamp the refrigerator. I start to back up before lowering the clamps, but I grabbed the wrong lever. This expensive, bra...

My husband’s 2 friends both want to marry… my only 2 Muslim friends

So this is kinda wild. My husband has two friends who are both desperate to get married. And by some crazy coincidence, the girls they’re into just happen to be my only two Muslim friends. Now these guys are basically harassing (not literally) my husband (and me by extension) — asking him to get me to share the girls’ numbers, trying to find out what they like through me, etc. They’re just rushing it and acting like it’s going to be super easy. For context, me and my husband got married back in university when we were just students. He wasn’t established, but he was pious and a genuinely good man, so I didn’t mind compromising — I gave up some of my rights, didn’t demand a house, and accepted a small mahr. Plus, I’m a revert so I didn’t need my father’s approval. Alhamdulillah it’s been 2 years now and I don’t regret it at all. But these two… they were actually witnesses at our nikah. So now they think every woman is going to be like me and agree to the same thing. 😭 They’re forgetti...

Cheating boyfriend

I (21F) just found out my boyfriend (26M) has been cheating on me, and I don’t even know how to process it. The hardest part is how normal he was acting around me. He still told me he loved me, made plans with me, and acted like everything was fine. He lied straight to my face, telling me I was the only one, while secretly messaging other people behind my back. I checked his phone, and at first I thought maybe they were just friends. But no—he was sending and receiving explicit pictures. The same person who kissed me goodnight was the same person sneaking around and living a double life. I feel so betrayed. I gave him my trust, my time, and my love, and this is what I get in return. I can’t stop replaying everything in my head, wondering how many times he lied to me, wondering what else I don’t know. I’m hurt, I’m angry, and I just feel completely broken right now. How do you even move on from someone who can look you in the eye, lie, and act like nothing’s wrong

Stole my friend's birthdy money for 3+ years

When I was a kid in like the 5th grade I had a friend named Tom, like not a close friend but a dude I was friends with at school but not someone I hung out with after school. Anyways everyone my age was super into RuneScape, it just came out and was mind blowing as an online rpg. Tom had a PC before most kids at school so he was by far way ahead of most kids in the game and everyone was jealous. Tom got bored of RuneScape and I paid him $50 for his character which was XwarriorX, and I played using this high level character for 2 weeks until one day I couldn't log in. The password on the account had been changed and I was locked out. I knew what had happened, Tom still knew the secret questions and stole back his account. Well I confronted Tom at school and he completely denied it, but I don't know when but I heard him bragging about it with his best friend Chris. So here's where I got back at Tom...despite scamming me of $50 we remained friends and despite us not hanging o...

My wife cheated on me (again) with my best friend. She wants to fix things, but I’m done. Now I just don’t know how to move forward with the kids and legal stuff.

I (36M) have been with my wife (35F) for 17 years. We have 3 kids together. I always believed in monogamy and being faithful. Over the years, I had plenty of chances to cheat but never did because I was happy with her. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about her. This isn’t the first time she’s been unfaithful. Years ago, she had an on-and-off affair with a married coworker that lasted a few years. Later, she had a fling with her ex while visiting family out of state. Both times I separated from her, but I eventually forgave her because I didn’t want my kids to grow up in a broken home like I did. I told myself we were young, people make mistakes, and we could rebuild. For a while, it seemed like we did. The past four years were calm, and I thought we were in a better place. I tried my best to move on and trust her again. But two months ago, it all came crashing down. I got a message from my best friend’s wife, with screenshots proving my wife was having an affair with him. They wer...

I had an absolutely mortifying experience yesterday at the store

This hands down has to be one of the most embarrassing things that’s ever happened to me. I was at Trader Joe’s yesterday looking for these crackers my coworker recommended to me. After searching for an extended time and not finding them I decided to just ask for help. I went up to this man who looked like he was probably the manager. He was standing next to another employee talking- both white (this matters later). I apologized for interrupting them and I asked if he knew where the crackers were. He then chuckled and gestured to himself and said “you’re looking at em”. I laughed assuming he was making a joke and referring to himself as a cracker. I said “no no I meant the edible ones”, his smile quickly faded. I was horrified to realize that he was infact NOT making a joke but referring to the literal shelf of crackers behind him….. I was so horrified I didn’t even bother looking for the crackers I needed. I just briefly glanced at the selection and got the hell out of there.

What’s the most romantic thing a man has done for you? (f20)

What is the most romantic thing a guy has done for you?

This shouldn't have happened (Iryna Zarutska)

I can’t stop thinking about Iryna Zarutska and the way she was killed. Seeing the footage of her just sitting there in disbelief completely broke my heart. The way her life was taken like that is beyond devastating. That poor girl… it’s so unfair and so wrong. My heart is aching. I feel both angry and deeply sad. Honestly, I wish I never saw that video, because the image of her sitting there after being stabbed is stuck in my head. RIP beautiful Iryna Zarutska 🕯🕊❤️

my CEO told me my new hairstyle makes me look like a playboy and now i m not sure what to do 😂😂

We just finished a really serious product review where my CEO was pointing out a lot of mistakes and wasn't very happy. Then, as we were wrapping up, he looked at me and said, "By the way, your hairstyle today makes you look like a playboy." I was like ok waoo , Totally unexpected 😂😂 Later, a few of my female colleagues overheard and said they agreed with him! So, what should i so? Should I keep the hairstyle or revert back to the old one?😂😂

roommate gave our shared credit card to his girlfriend and now my credit score is wrecked

Hey guys, really need your help here. My roommate and I split our monthly expenses through a shared credit card. It covers our rent, groceries, streaming subscriptions, and other random stuff.  I’m actually the primary cardholder, and he just pays me his share at the end of the month. Up until now, it worked fine because we both just kept things clean.  But here’s where it went sideways. He’s been dating this girl for about 5 months and, without telling me, he gave her access to our card. His logic was basically “she’s just my girlfriend bro, what’s the worst that could happen?” Well, the worst happened. She went out and swiped the card at Sephora, Zara, and who knows where else. Makeup, clothes, and random stuff that had nothing to do with our expenses. It drained the card limit right when we needed to cover actual bills. Because of all this mess, we missed the payment deadline and now my credit score has taken a hit too. When I confronted her, she literally said she thought it was “...

My friend just orchestrated the most awkward, cringe-filled "random" meeting of my life.

So I just need to tell this story somewhere people might appreciate the sheer social chaos I experienced. I’m still processing. I was on a walk, headphones in, totally in my own world. Suddenly, I hear a faint “Yo Gabe!” I take my headphones off look over and it’s my friend Trey, waving from near his apartment building. I walk over, we chat for a minute like normal. Then he says, “Let me get you spiffed up,” and reaches out to adjust my collar. This is a thing he does, he’s weirdly into making sure everyone’s look is together, so I didn’t think much of it. Then, without a single second of pause, he hits me with: “Hey, you wanna meet another one of my friends?” Before I can even process the question, he turns and knocks on the door of the apartment next to his. It opens immediately (suspicious, right?). A woman I’ve never seen before steps out. Then another one of her roommates appears behind her. They’re both just… smiling at me. Trey is beaming. The girl introduces herself, and I’m j...

An interaction I had when I was snowboarding

I was snowboarding in Minnesota at a resort called Lutsen. I was going on this one run many times and every time I got off the chairlift, the same snowboarder was sitting there. After about five runs of that, I approached the guy and asked if he was ok. He said that he fucked up his shoulder. I asked him a series of questions like if he has family around to call and he said he was by himself and his family was back at their ski in ski out hotel. Since he had no one, I helped him up off the ground, which took multiple attempts because I am a woman who is 108 pounds and he was about 135. Then, we slowly went snowboarding down the hill and I followed close behind. We got to this place that had a path leading up to his hotel. So, I took off his bindings and carried both of our snowboards up and to his hotel. His dad thanked me and I was on my way. A couple of runs later, I see ambulances outside of the hotel(the chairlift was right over the hotel). I hope hes ok.

My fiancé's niece asked him why he is marrying the witch from Snowhite

Yesterday I attended my mother-in-law's birthday with my fiancé. We met his brother and her little daughter (4 y/o). I hadn't seen her in several months but l thought we had a good relationship. I usually scare off children at the beggining but I am good with them and I have taken care of her many times before when my brother in law and his wife were working/wanted some time for themselves. When she saw me she stared at me and then asked my fiancé why was he marrying the witch from Snowhite. Her parents only let her watch cartoons so I know she referred to the witch of the old Disney Movie. As a person who has been bullied because of her nose during all her life it stung, even if it came from a kid. I can't stop thinking about how she may have heard it from her parents. When things like that happen to me I think I should stay at home because I seem to be too ugly for being in public.

roommate keeps maxing out credit cards and partying while I’m just trying to survive college

My roommate is already deep in debt. She has multiple credit cards maxed out and she just signed up for another one. Every weekend she goes out to parties, buys expensive dresses, and eats at fancy restaurants. Sometimes she even tries to pressure me to join her, but I’ve learned my lesson from my previous roommate and I just don’t. I like going out sometimes, but I can’t spend money I don’t have. It’s hard living with her because she doesn’t listen when I tell her to slow down. I’ve tried talking to her multiple times about not spending so much and not going to so many parties, but she just ignores me. She even complains if I don’t come along sometimes, which can be stressful. I’ve been careful with my own money. I use debit cards that build credit instead of credit cards. That way I am only spending money I actually have, but I am still slowly building my credit for future things like renting an apartment or buying a car. It has been working really well for me. I cook my own meals, ...

The guy I’m dating has a girl who’s been wanting him for years, and he can’t seem to get rid of her

I’ve been seeing this guy for a little while, and things have been going well. The only issue is there’s this girl in his life who has apparently been into him for years. From what he’s told me, she’s made it obvious, and even some of his friends joke about how she’s been “waiting for her chance.” The problem is, she’s still very much around. She’ll text him, comment on all his posts, and invite him to things that feel more like dates than hangouts. I’ve even been there when she gets a little too flirty in front of me. He tells me he’s not interested in her and that they’re “just friends,” but it doesn’t feel that simple. I don’t know if it’s that he doesn’t want to hurt her feelings, or if he just enjoys the attention, but he doesn’t exactly shut it down either. It’s starting to make me uncomfortable because I don’t want to be stuck in some weird situation where I’m competing with someone who’s been orbiting him for years. And honestly, it’s making me question what we even have. If h...

Sexted my boss by accident, and she seems… interested. Pray for me.

So I’m at work, texting my girlfriend under the desk. I type out: “Can’t wait to get home and absolutely ruin you tonight 😈.” Send. Pocket the phone. Go back to work. A minute later, I get a reply: “Bold of you to assume you could handle me.” I look down. It’s from my BOSS. My heart stopped. I read it five times thinking my eyes were broken. She wasn’t joking. She thought I meant it. Now she’s been extra “friendly” around the office all week, leaning in close when she talks, complimenting me way too much. Meanwhile, I’m just sitting there sweating through my shirt, trying to figure out how to explain this without ending up on the news…

I think I met a real life vigilante?

I (23M) was coming home from a grocery store trip with nothing more than some bread (because i ran out) when my GF texted me while I was walking to my car. And while i was replying a guy stepped out of the alley way infront of me, and he presses a gun to my chest, before he throws me into the alley way. Bread getting smashed against the ground and my back hitting a dumpster, with 2 other dudes following behind, one of them looked like a meth head- I dunno. ANYWAYS, they begin trying to take my things, wallet, phone, shoes, keys.. When out of nowhere this dude dressed in some ridiculous costume dropkicks the guy with the gun, causing his face to smash into the concrete. And when the other two turn to face what i assume is a vigilante, i grab my things off of the ground and book it. This happened just last night, I called the cops and told them what happened. Apparently this has been happening recently where a guy dressed in a big jacket, boots, black and gold luchador mask, and scarf a...
