My sister uninvited me from her wedding three weeks before the date. The reason? I might “outshine her”in photos.

So some backstory. My sister and I have never really been close, but we’re not enemies either. Typical sibling stuff growing up, nothing crazy. When she got engaged last year, I was genuinely happy for her. I offered to help pay for the flowers, drove four hours to help her try on dresses, the whole supportive-sister role.
Fast forward to three weeks ago. I get a text, not a call, a text, that just says “hey, so, I’ve been thinking, and I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to come to the wedding anymore.”
I thought she was joking. I actually laughed and texted back “lol why.” She said, and I am quoting this exactly because I still have the messages, she said “you know how you are, everyone always says you’re the pretty one, and I don’t want that energy at my wedding, I want it to be about me.”
I want to be really clear here. I didn’t ask to be “the pretty one.” I didn’t do anything at any family event to make it about me. This is a title that other people apparently gave me over the years that I never asked for and never wanted, and now I’m being punished for it at my own sister’s wedding.
I called my mom, thinking she’d back me up. She did not back me up. My mom said, and I quote, “just let her have this one, weddings are stressful, don’t make it a whole thing.” My mom’s advice was for me to just accept getting uninvited from a family event because my sister feels insecure standing next to me.
Here’s where it gets worse. I found out through my aunt, not through my sister, that she still expects me to pay the four hundred dollars I already promised for the flowers. The flowers for the wedding I’m no longer invited to. My sister removed me from the guest list and kept me on the invoice.
I texted her back and said I’d be happy to skip the wedding, but the flower money was off the table now too. She has not responded in five days. My mom has texted me twice telling me to “just pay it to keep the peace.”
I haven’t paid it. I’m not planning to. But now I’m getting group chat messages from cousins I haven’t spoken to in years, all somehow already aware that I’m “causing drama” over flowers, which tells me exactly what story my sister has been telling everyone.
So I guess my question is, am I the villain here for keeping my four hundred dollars, or is my sister the villain for uninviting her own sibling and then sending her an invoice anyway?
Follow for the update, because apparently my sister just found out I’m not paying.

So my wife’s going to a gala tonight — as her client’s “date.”

I’m 44 and my wife is 44. She works on an art advisory committee, so attending galas, events, and client meetings is part of her job. She often meets clients for coffee, lunch, or dinner, and I don’t always know the details and that’s completely normal because it’s part of her work. She’s always professional, transparent about her friendships, and I trust her judgment completely. Recently, she mentioned she’s going to a gala with a friend, S. He’s a wealthy client she met about a year ago, and they became friends professionally. She introduced me to him once, and he seems like a genuinely good person. He invited her as his “date” to this gala, and my wife said it’s fine. I did ask her though, if she’s actually going as a “date,” and she just laughed and said, “Date doesn’t always mean romantic.” She said it’s important for her she could get networking and meet new people. Then she smiled and said, “If I get into this gala next time, I won’t need to take that man with me, I’ll take you...

I accidentally started a fake relationship with my dentist’s nephew and now I have to bring him to my cousin’s wedding

I swear this isn’t as insane as it sounds. Or maybe it is. I don’t know anymore. So I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled last month. All four. It was horrible. I cried when they put the numbing stuff in. Not from pain, just vibes. The dentist was this sweet older guy, probably in his 60s, super gentle, gave dad energy. Anyway, after the whole thing I’m in the waiting room with a mouth full of gauze, looking like a bloated chipmunk and trying not to drool on myself. This guy walks in. Maybe 20-ish. Tall, curly hair, kind of goofy looking but in a hot way. He smiles at me and goes, “You look like you fought a squirrel and lost.” I flip him off. With love. Apparently he’s the dentist’s nephew. He was dropping off lunch or something, I wasn’t listening. I was trying to keep my face from leaking. He sits down and starts chatting with me while I wait for my ride. I don’t say much because again, gauze goblin. But I must’ve made an impression because later that night I get a message on Instagr...

I accidentally went on a date with someone who thought I was their other Tinder match

So, a couple months ago I matched with this girl on Tinder. We had a pretty normal convo, nothing crazy, but eventually she asks me to grab coffee. Chill, right? We meet at this cute local spot, she gives me a quick hug, and right off the bat she says: “Wow, you look even better than your hiking pics!” Problem is… I don’t hike. Like, I don’t even walk briskly. I just nod and laugh it off. We keep talking and she starts referencing stuff that makes zero sense. “Your dog is so cute—what was his name again? Bentley?” I don’t have a dog. Never have. Then she mentions how I told her I used to live in Colorado. Again, not me. I’ve never even been west of Kansas. So now I’m trying to figure out if I have early onset memory loss or if she’s mistaking me for someone else entirely. Finally, mid-latte, I ask, “Hey, just to clarify… what’s my name?” She looks confused. “Jake?” Friends… my name is not Jake. We just stared at each other for a solid five seconds before she burst out laughing. Appare...
